About Me
( Don't blame me, you wanted to know!)
VISITOR COUNT
* I was born January 18, 1932 on a farm just North of Mt. Pleasant, Texas
* I was the 2nd of three sons. (my twin was miscarried at 3 months)
* Moved to Boulder City Nevada in 1934 where Daddy worked on the Boulder Dam.
Although we never moved back to the farm we always had a garden, chickens, and cows to care for.  Times were hard and we needed them to survive.
We would return to the farms of our relatives to help with the crops every Summer and Holidays until I finished school.
Time during the summer each year helped to build most of my fond memories of Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and the hardships of country living.
* Moved to Wichita Falls, Texas in the Winter of 1936, where daddy found work as an electician, later working with Wilson's Mfg. Co. (Oil Field Equipment)
* Moved to San Antonio, Texas Dec. 18, 1941 where Daddy found work at Randolph AFB
* I finished school in 1949 and attended college at San Antonio College.
* I started to work when I was 11 yrs. old as a dishwasher and worked at other jobs all through my school years.
I managed to maintain good grades throughout the years.
* When I finished High School, I got a job as a Junior Electrician and Randolph AFB.
* In 1951 I joined the Naval Reserve and remained in for 8 years.  I acquired the rank of 1st Class Electician's Mate, instructing for 3 years of that enlistment.
* I got married to Patsy, on February 28, 1953.  Nine months later, we had our first child. A boy, whom we named Clint, born December 5, 1953
* Patsy miscarried who we believe was a set of twins, later we had our second son Gary, born March 12, 1958.
*Following his arrival, Patsy miscarried another son.
* I received my Engineering Certification in 1958.
* The following year, we had a little girl, Melanie, born December 5, 1959 (notice her birthday is the same as Clint's)
* I was caught in a "reduction of work forces" in 1959 and was laid off.
* I went to work the next day at the "School of Aviation Medicine" and it was moved and consolidated into the "Aerospace Medical Center" on Brooks AFB.
( Where the astronauts receive training and testing )
* I was promoted to work leader, then foreman, then superintendent, and finally Director of Maintenance and Operations for the Civil Engineering Division.  I worked in direct support of the space program and space medical research, with a work force consisting of 13 different trade-crafts.
* In March of 1977, I had a heart attack due to the stress of the job.  After attempting to return to work, I had to retire on disability.
* In August of 1979 I returned to Mt. Pleasant to care for my mother after the death of my father, who had leukemia.
* In 1981, I began working again, helping one of my cousins in his furniture business.  I managed his inventory and oversaw the delivery and set-up department, and did appliance repairs.
* April 1, 1984 my son Gary was in an automobile accident and suffered closed head injuries.  He was in coma for 3 months, after which his wife concluded that she was uncapable to care for him, having two of their children to rear, and filed for a divorce.  As result my wife and I took him home to care for.  After 9 years of hard work we finally got him out of his wheelchair and on his own.  He met his second wife and they have a set of twin daughters.  They divorced after the first year and she kept the twins.
* October 26, 1994, my first son Clint, was found lying in the street in San Antonio.  He was the victim of a hit and run.  He also had massive closed head injuries.  He had two brain surgeries and remained in coma for over 3 months.  Attempts were made to rehabilitate him, but the efforts were fruitless.  He remains with my wife and I today, unable to manage for himself.  I have assumed his role as father to his four children.  They have since finished school and are doing well.  His second son is studying to be a doctor.
* Recently, Gary's twin daughters came to live with us because they were having trouble with their school-work and their mother was unable to help.  They  brought their grades back up and are doing well in school now.  They have since gone to live with their aunt Melanie and her husband Steve, in Sulphur Springs, Texas.
* I am back in the country finally (Just 500 yards from my birthplace).  We have 13 grandchildren and (presently) 7 great-grandchildren.  My daughter is an LVN  She is working as a Home Care Nurse and her husband works in sales for a wholesale food supply company there.  This is the second marriage for both of them and they have two daughters and three sons between them.
As of this date I have thirteen grandchildren and ton great-grandchildren with one on the way, due in February 2005.

I am a Christian, a member of the Church of Christ.  I believe that the Bible is our only true source of a knowledge of the Will Of God.  Anything else is the works of man and reflects their beliefs, right or wrong, and usually are biased toward their particular religion.  I never argue religion.  If there is a discussion of differences in beliefs, the Bible is the standard I use.  (For more information go to "Just Me" poem, link below.)
