I awoke up this morning,
greeted by a brand new day.
I really must get busy,
Before time slips away,
But first, I need to think.
I need to formulate a plan,
or, should I just relax,
or go fishing since I can.
The day is passing quickly,
I must make up my mind.
Should I go play a round of golf,
and leave all worries behind?
I really should mow the lawn,
but this morning's grass was wet.
Now that the sun is so hot,
I might burn and sweat.
I need to wash the car,
but my wife is going somewhere.
I'll have to do it later,
when I have some time to spare.
The day is so pretty,
I'll get a whole lot done.
After all my work is finished,
then I can have some fun.
My buddy called me on the phone,
and talked an hour or two.
He wanted me to help him,
but I've got my own work to do.
A hole is in the back door screen,
and bugs get in somehow.
That will have to wait a while,
'cause the stores are closed by now.
I have grown so confused,
I have so much to do.
I think I'll go to lie down,
and get a wink or two.
All of this thinking and worry,
has tired out this old brain.
Maybe I'll give lucky tomorrow,
and the Lord will send some rain.
