Mr. Duncan

I just visited your site for the first time and I love it. This is truly an example of "the reach of the internet" falling into the right hands. Many of the entries that I viewed in the guest book mentioned the awakening of distant memories and other similar emotions, this I can associate with, but in a very different way.
I am 19 years old and still at the begining of what I know will be a long and exciting life. What brings me to point this out is the fact that one of my most pressing goals is to live to its fullest whatever life I want to live. And that desired life, in many ways closely resembles many of your poems. I want so badly to sit on the front porch on lazy summer days just sing'n my heart out. I want to drive an old chevy pickup down an old dirt road. I want to watch my children swing on that old tire swing down by the lake.
Reading your poems doesn't bring back memories from my past. Reading your poems causes me to put my nose to the grindstone and be willing to struggle, knowing that when the dust settles I will be living the life that I set out to have. And one day, because I believed in Faith that it would be accomplished, I will look back and reminisce over such things as The Old Farm House by the grove and the old Radio Flyer wagon and not forgetting Home Made Ice cream!!!!
I guess the main reason that I so desire to live that life is that every emotion brought out by the reading of your poems, when looked at as a whole seem to shout Closeness of Family, Family values, Spirtiual Foundation and Blessed by God. You have inspired and strenghtened me in so many ways by your wounderful poems, and I pray that God will continue to inspire you.
Thank you so much and God Bless-

This letter was received 5/26/03 - Thanks for the encouraging words Clint.  Life is what you make of it.  I hope you build many cherished memories through a long and happy life.  The surest way to do that is to get to know your Lord on a personal basis.  Good Luck.

VISITOR COUNT
The following is a letter of thanks from a concerned mother.  It is very encouraging to me to know that my poems are taken seriously by even the younger generation.  It has been my hope that I am able to make a difference by the things that I endeavor to share with everybody who reads my poems.

Dear Papaw, I have been reading with DELIGHT...all the things on your webpages...oh, such memories...I'm 59 and can remember so many of these type days/evenings etc...was born & reared in the country with 5 other siblings..all older..and we reminese often. I have a son who's 34...he taught me to use the computer...and he also reads some of your things. I raised my son in the Church...but he has fallen away...college graduate and too big for his britches! I get so discouraged..but I said all that , to say this....HE HAS STARTED TO ASK QUESTIONS & READ THE BIBLE AGAIN...I think it is partially due to YOUR website!..It's like you are so real..genuine...that it has plagued his interest. For what it's worth to you...Thankyou, from the bottom of my heart for putting spiritual & funny things to read & listen to. Please keep up the good work. I reached your pages through "Carolyne's Precious Memories.         Nancyellen
